Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces Thuraya Partnership and New Advanced Shipboard Terminal Suite

The Comtech Marine Terminal Suite Delivers User-Friendly, Price
Competitive Broadband Services Over the Thuraya Network to the Maritime
Market

MELVILLE, N.Y., March 29, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comtech
Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its
Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, in
partnership with Thuraya Telecommunications Co. is developing an
advanced, broadband satellite transceiver for the commercial maritime
market. The new shipboard terminal suite complies with all maritime
standards, and features leading market technology such as an advanced
antenna that ensures high-quality connectivity to the satellite
regardless of vessel movements. This terminal will be used to conduct
business while a vessel is at sea, as well as for private use by crew
members. Comtech expects to formally launch this new product in
September of this year.

The Comtech maritime terminal will provide high-quality voice services
as well as a broadband service with connection speeds of up to 444
kbps. Additionally, users will also be able to access high-speed
video-streaming at speeds of 384 kbps at sea. The competitiveness of
the new solution lies in its compact size and cost-effectiveness to
meet the needs of the maritime market.

Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech
Telecommunications Corp., said, "We are very proud of this exciting
partnership with Thuraya and it creates a new growth area for our
mobile data communications products and services. Our new maritime

Thuraya's superior and congestion-free satellite network along with
Comtech's technology and product development know-how," said Thuraya's
Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yousuf Al Sayed. He also added that this
new terminal was designed following diligent market research, to ensure
an extremely practical and user-friendly maritime solution for
crew-calling, pushing data as well as streaming services.
